Any Chicken/Avian Vets on the GS? I need some advice

Short of taking this chicken to the vet I'm not sure what to do to help her or if putting her down is the best option.

She is 19wks and not yet laying. She won't walk and when she does its on her hocks and she uses her wings to balance.

She hasn't passed many BMs and most have them have only been pea sized except for the most recent which was more normal sized. As far as chicken BMs go all appears normal in color and texture.

She is a little lethargic but is still eating and drinking ok. Her eyes also appear normal.

The rest of my flock seems to be fine as well.

Any chance there's someone out there that can help me? I posted on a very popular chicken forum and have gotten no response.

I can post pictures and videos of needed.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks! This is day three for the poor girl and I'm afraid if she is still not improving tomorrow the kindest thing may be to put her down

She said more than likely it got tangled into something and either broke or hurt both its legs. it does not sound like any sickness she knows of. she had one that broke one leg and she put it in a splint for a few weeks and it healed like normal

whats her comb look like? have you wormed them?

I had a one who crop got infected. He stopped moving around and would just lay around. had to put him down.

if legs are broken you should be able to tell.

Does the bottom of her feet look swollen? Check out diseases for fowl on web.

Nothing seems broken and she can walk when she really wants too. We thought maybe our rooster might have hurt her when trying to mount her.

Her comb is pink and her face red at times. She is just coming into laying age so her comb wasn't red yet.

I have not wormed them. But they were on medicated feed as chicks. I also have not seen any worms.

I'm going to check her crop in the morning and see if it empties.

                Nothing seems broken either.

No they seem pretty normal sized. Bumble foot was on of the first things I checked her for.

It almost sounds like she is egg bound. not for sure though..

There are a few common reasons a hen can become egg bound - one reason for egg binding is that the egg is simply just too big for the pelvis, another possibility is there is not enough calcium in the diet (calcium is required

I thought about that but I can't feel anything and she hasn't started laying yet. Nor has she started showing signs that she is getting close. (I.e. she still has a small yellow/pink comb)

I have. It's a possibility but none of my other chickens are sick and I'm pretty sure they all have been vaccinated for it.

I ran everything by a friend who is in vet school and showed her some videos and she believes it may be from heat stress.

She seems much better today so we are just gonna wait and see.
