Has anyone on here ever taught archery classes on the side. I was thinking about doing this for kids and adults alike that are new to it. I'm curiouse to know if anyone else has attempted this and what results they had.

Down here in Corpus we have quite a few coaches. All of them are certified. One is a pro tournament shooter, Casey Barrera. Robert Garcia has been teaching our kids for years and years. I guess that's why we send so many kids to state, nationals and the past couple of years, even the world championships. Most just volunteer though. I don't know what it would cost to get a lesson from one of them.

I got certified to teach 4-H and have taught it in camps for the last 5 years. got my NASP certification 5 years ago and have taught it in the local school for 4 years. Have had a school archery team for the last 4 years and shoot against other schools. I love it and the kids sure take to it.....Shoe

Watch this website, it is straight out of 1993, but there is a lot of good information.
The president of TSAA and a local lady taught the class I attended. It was a pretty fun class.

a little perspective from someone who is a full time volunteer doing archery instruction (straight arrow archery learning center, Victoria, Texas) I do a lot of free lessons, sort of like try before you buy. But, if you don't charge something eventually folks will take advantage of your generosity. Unfortunately it is a sign of the times and many folks think they are entitled to things. It can be extremely rewarding to help kids learn to shoot and the learning curve in archery is pretty steep. Equipment is not the limiting item in archery. It is a place to shoot and someone to teach you how to use the equipment.
