    Anybody have an idea

Of how much I should expect to pay to get travel trailer's ac fixed? I've never experienced this in the past so I have no clue as how much it'd cost.

It ain't going to be cheap period. I had to replace mine after a hail storm and it was somewhere around $1000 for the replacement. There is nothing cheap on an RV, sort of like a diesel pickup!

Depending on the size a lot of people do a redneck fix. Install a small window unit.

Thanks, guys. I will see about asking this guy.

Exactly, Lameduck. I was going to buy this new standing up ac unit from Home Depot for a temporary fix until I got time and money to get it to shop.

Anybody have the standing ac unit? I don't know about window unit. That means I'd have to leave window open or modify window.

Just stopped working. Not even fan is working at all. I think the blower may be locked. Checked the fuses. Breaker and everything.

Were you turning it on and it wouldn't work or was it running and just stopped?

Ok, I now know that it shouldn't have been left running whole time I wasn't there as I've been told in other thread when I asked for help at the time when I went over there few weeks ago. I did that for two summers without any issues. The reason I did that was because it would take a long time to cool the trailer up when I get there. I always left it on at 76 degree. I guess that's my big mistake of leaving it on. I didn't know any better. Now I do. Lol.

Yeah? Awesome! I need to figure out how to cut a small opening for exhaust and for drain. How did you do yours? I saw this a while back. I need to go to Home Depot and check it out again. I may just pull the trigger and buy it so I can stay at the property while working on the land and tend livestock.

You will still have to exhaust the hot exhaust air outside somehow with the stand up units. They do work pretty good though.

Seems as though you'd be wasting money for a temporary fix that you could apply toward the repair.

Yes. I am aware that I would need to do that. I need to figure that out. This trailer is 2006. I haven't gotten a renewal tag for my plate plus my time to haul it to shop and cost of repair. This will be a temporary but also may be colder during hot summer month because my ac unit on trailer doesn't keep the trailer cold. Its only one unit not two. It gets very warm the past two years. When it gets over 100 with high heat index. Not much cover in shade either. So....

I have a stand up unit in my 5th wheel and I routed the exhaust out thru the hatch opening in the floor going up into the bedroom and out the storage compartment under neath the bedroom and out the front of the trailer thru the opening where the black water hose usually goes. Talk about Aggie Engineering!

I will say this for the stand up unit in an RV, they do not cool like they would inside an office with a lot more insulation. it works, but not very good. This was down in Midland with ZERO shade and during the summer. It made it berable, but barely.

That's ingenuity! I'll think about it. Better than none! I may try cleaning the coils and try something when I go down this Friday. If things goes south still, I may just pull the trigger on standing unit. Or a window unit? Think maybe a window unit will be more colder?
