    Lost title question?

So when I was 16 almost 10 years ago I got a jeep and we did the age old hey the registration is good for another year lets wait and change title over then and lost it. (didnt say it was smart but i was broke and paid for it myself) jeep has set up since 2006 because of it. I have started fixing it up again but don't know how to get a title. Looked online and only find replacement or lost title but its not in my name yet any suggestions? Thanks

If I can't get one I will turn it into a mud toy but its in way to good of shape for me to want to do that.

I'm pretty sure you can just go to the county tax office ave file for a lost title. They will do a title search and make sure its not stolen and should be able to get in contact with the previous owner and if it checks out, give you a title.

Google lawrance title service in Taylor tax. I got a bonded title for a car with out a title.
Couple hundred bucks I believe it cost. Very easy process. You call them, they send you a packet for $100 mad they send it into the state. Weeks later you get another packet to take to the registration office and your done

Contact your county office and you can do the bond thing. Your insurance agent should be able to sell you the bond. I have done a few myself the past year. Bond amount is determined by the county. Bond should run between $100-200.

Basically, if anyone claims ownership ( and can prove it) in the next 4 years the bond pays me if I have to give the car back. Now, I know this will not happen.
As I understand it, after four years a regular title is issued.

Ok cool I have had the jeep since 04 and was scared to call the lady up since technically she could just say no it's still mine if she knew I lost title before changed it over. ( I have my proof of insurance I carried in it for 2 years still)

So you did use the Laurence place?
