    Fish Taxi

Alright TBH brain pool, we need the name of the best fish taxidermist. Local lady here caught a crappie yesterday evening that weighed 3.75 lbs. They are headed to Jasper this morning to do an official weigh-in at the TPWD hatchery. Her husband asked me to find a good one for them. Will post pics and relate the story later when they settle down enough to give it to me.

Woooweeee, that's a big ol crappie!

Ok, my taxidermist does an outstanding job on fish. I have had two fish done by him and my buddy also got one of his fish done by him. His turn around is pretty darn quick too. I got my 36" redfish back from him in 3 weeks! Here is the info. He is located in Conroe.

For a fish like that I would go to taxidermy.net and look at some of the work that has been done. Search one of the forums for "crappie" and take a look at who is posting their work.

              The record is 4+lbs.
              A 3.75 is a great fish.
Will TP&W do something to acknowledge the fish and catch?

They won't acknowledge it unless it's a lake record.

BTW, Chance Love did an awesome job on my 12.20 lb. LMB replica.

This is the only pic I have and it does the taxi work absolutely no justice.

I wanted to have a 42" Red replica made. I searched and searched for someone who could make a redfish replica look like a fish instead of a replica with no luck whatsoever. Are redfish THAT much harder to reproduce than other fish?

Reeves taxi. in Channelview is the best fish guy I know. He did a Small Mouth for me in the mid 80' and a Large Mouth rep. in the early 90'. I would consider getting a replaca made, They last a lot longer and look better in my opion.

The problem might be the molds?????
