Anyone want to hit the surf with me Friday AM East of Surfside?

I'm fairly certain I'm going to make a run down to Surfside Friday, in time to be fishing 30 min before sunrise. If anyone wants to go or meet down there, post up and we'll figure something out. If the forecasts hold true, Friday morning should be ideal. I'm going to pick up some croaker & Live Shrimp but will probably throw topwaters as the sun comes up.

If it wasn't a 3 hour drive and I didn't have to work Thursday night I would.

I will be down there. I'm going tommorow morning also and will keep going till it turns back rough. I'm working nights right now and won't be down there till right at 7 though.

Looking like the forecast may hold true. I have to work tomorrow or I'd join you.

I was ready to go but I don't like that southwest wind which will keep the surf off color. The surf along the seawall is real dirty right now. I'm going to sit this one out. Hope you tear em up Sackett!

I was thinking of going in the a.m. but Johnny is right on with this SW wind. The surf cams don't look great right now. Maybe it will lay tonight.

Supposed to switch back out of the southwest in the morning but the water was not bad color in Surfside this morning, just still a little rough. I don't know why people don't fish off colored water??? Its the gin clear water that I don't like... if throwing top waters, sub surface or even plastics you will catch more fish in sandy water 99% of the time. Or at least that's my experience...

I agree Jay...I dont like fishing gin clear water myself and I sure the heck don't like fishing churned up sand either which is what it looks like on the seawall....6 inches visibility. I'm gonna wait till I see sandy to sandy green where I like to fish the surf.

I'm here now and am thinking about trying it in the morning. I'm a rookie to surf fishing, but if you don't mind it I would be willing to meet up. I'm in a house right next to Stalhman Park across from the crabbing pier. Shoot me a PM or text to 979-221-4038 and we can work out the details.

Its SSW at 11 right now at Scholes field. Not a good direction or speed. Its straight SW at most other places on Galveston Bay.
