    Math question

    If i have a hole I drilled that is 7 inches in diameter and 10 foot deep, and I place a 4 inch PVC pipe in the hole to the bottom. The PVC measures 4.5 OD. How many cubic feet is left inbetween the two. I am wanting to fill the void with a liquid foam and need to know how many cubic feet it is so I can order the correct amount. That stuff is expensive. Thanks

    Volume of the hole is 4618 cu/in volume of the od tube is 1909.. should be 2709 cu/in.. 1.5 cu ft give or take

      Volume=pie×radius squared×hight

      Pie=3.14

      Figure out the volume of the 7 inch hole/cylinder..... then find the volume of the 4.5 inch cylinder...... thensubtract the 4.5 volume from the 7 volume...

      I aint no math wiz though... I had a sugar mama that did my stats work in college... I made her happy in return... a thank you thank you kinda deal...

                  I got 78.5 cubic ft.

                  (7x3.14)120" - (4.5x3.14)120"

                  2637.6"- 1695.6"

                  942"/12 = 78.5'

                      You used diameter x pi x height

                      Should be pi x radius x radius x height.
                      (Pi times radius squared)

                      1.5 cu ft is a correct answer. (1.5677119...)

                          I just use the guzzenta factor. I just pour until I figure out how much guzzenta the hole.
