    Who hunts in Junction?

We recently got on a new place south of Junction a few miles after being kicked off our lease in San Saba. Wondering what to expect. Thanks!

I hunt South West of Junction out by Roosevelt. Good chance you will see exotics. We are loaded with axis and whitetail. Not sure how big the white tail will be on our place. The previous owner shot a 162 4-5 years ago.

I've hunted in Junction on the retired game wardens place. Always saw lots of does and a few axis. Beautiful country !

We have had a ranch between Junction and Roosevelt for the last 6 years. Some river frontage, so the deer are pretty transient on that tract. The other side of the ranch is pretty consistent with decent bone, but to be honest, I just shoot trash. With three 9 year old kids, I'm doing what I can to save the bucks for their future hunts.

Don't know that I really answered your question, so - some years we have seen wall-hangers and others it hasn't been too good. Drought and rain conditions determine a lot..

Two large herds of axis hang around our place, but even the hogs are transient. We'll see them for a few weeks and then they'll be gone for a couple of months. No black buck or aoudad thus far. We do see turkey on occasion.

I've hunted that area before and like said, lots of exotics. Sika, Axis and BlackBuck. WT deer are so-so.

I'm sure we would be in as well! We are gonna be hunting about 5 miles south on 83.

I hunted there a lot! I loved it. Well managed 1600 acre. A lot of axis near the river. Took a good 9 point there. Saw a a lot of bigger bucks. After taking my 9 point I scouted this buck for a friend. Wishn now I would have passed my buck!
