First trip to the new cabin..........

    .......at Hacienda del Brute Killer.
We too a ride down to Pleasanton Sunday morning after we picked up a few things at the old house in Llano.
We we going to set up some bunk beds & break in the new cabin
    New to us.

I borrowed a buddy's generator because when we got there we found that the electric meter was gone. The guy running cows (same guy with the generator) at our place apparently did not need electricity to the well anymore.
It was hot & humid but the a/c in the cabin was great.
We all slept fine & I got up the next morning about 6:30 & saw hogs moving across an open area east if the cabin, about 250 yards away.
Well, I break out the .300winmag & creep up to an old airplane tire lying on the ground to use for a rest.
Well, the hogs were walking briskly & I rushed the shot & missed. It was about a 200 yard shot, more or less. I checked for blood later & found none.
So, I get the kids fed & dressed & we go ride the ranch, seeing what there was to see. No more hogs.
I pull up to a tank on the place & get the pistols out so the kids can shoot:

Kenton shoots funny. He aligns the gun to his right eye, but aims with his left.
I am working on getting him out of this.

Looks like a lot of fun. Enjoy they grow fast. Today I have the 37 year old son and 16 year old grand son helping at the shop. Seems like yesterday they were both that age.

Looks like they had fun. You my friend need to take shooting lessons from the kids. I always hear of you missing or can't find it but the kids always have ldp or cactus leaf for proof. JK

Looks like fun. That's not a hornet, it's a tarantula hawk.

The kids were a little leery of it. I told them it wouldn't bother them.
