    Need advice

Last Sunday I was headed home down 35 when I smelled diesel and saw smoke streaming out the back of the truck. I got it shutdown and off the road quickly but not before I sprayed 3/4 of a tank all over the engine compartment and underbody of my truck. Fuel line busted under hood. Now truck reeks of diesel. Any suggestions on how to kill the smell? My mechanic told me TIME.

place newspaper all over floor boards and put a bag of charcoal on it...

If using the charcoal method try getting some activated charcoal for a fish tank filter. Activated charcoal absorbs odor better.

If its a dodge,,,,, throw a lit match at it.
The smell will take care of itself.

Take it here, buddy of mine had a similar experience with a mishap involving a cooler of fish in the back of his tahoe... said they took care of it. Used a good cleaning and an ozone generator. If it worked for fish smell, one would think it would work for fuel smell... so long as they can use the ozone generator with fuel?

Fuel return line on passenger side? Mine did that also. Took about a week to get rid of smell.

Yes. I hope it only takes a week. It's killing me!

If it's all over the frame under the truck, how about getting it steam cleaned at a place that does 'real' steam cleaning? It is expensive here, so probably $150-$200 for the whole underbody.
