    Sciatic Nerve Pain???????

Do any of you guys suffer with it? Lower back pain that extends into my right cheek. I haven't been to a doctor, but my symptoms would indicate sciatica. What are some things I can do to help it?

I went to the chiropractor that works on the Lsu track team for about 8 treatments. No issues since. There are some exercises that you can do to help just call me and I'll tell you how to do them.

Yep thats what it sounds like it is. I have had mine act up on me twice and it brought me to my knees. I couldn't move could only lay in one spot. My very wise 85 year Grandfather said only thing to make it go away is to put ice on it for a day. I would put ice on it for 30 min at a time and off for ten min and after about 5-6 hours it was gone. Ice makes the swelling go down. Good luck cause I know it hurts like a mofo

x2 I had it my right sciatic nerve. I had real pain for about a month. A buddy told me to put ice on it. 2 days later it was gone.

Inflammation is apparently a big pain producer.

Ice, ham string stretches and inversion table work wonders! As do supplements for joint health...deer antler spray is the best I have found.

I get it about once a year when I try lifting legs again. No bueno... Have tried chiropractor, massage, all sorts of topical solutions... only thing that consistently works is fighting through it and walking my tail off...

Keep in mind that sciatica is only a symptom of a larger issue, and is not, itself, considered a medical condition. It all depends on exactly what is causing the nerve to act up. If stretching or ice helps, so be it. Monday will be 3 weeks from back surgery. My L3 was disintegrated and surgery (fusion) was my only option...
This is my 3rd back surgery due to degenerative disk disease and I had a bad pinch of the sciatic nerve. Since day one of the surgery I have had no pain or numbness of the nerve. Everyday is getting better with the "cut" and I walked 9 miles 2 days ago and today I made my longest single walk of 6.3 miles with a brisk 3 MPH for the whole walk.
See a doctor before trying a chiropractor. Depending on what is wrong they can do more harm than good if they are not careful. Been there, done that...

I had a knot on right cheek and numbness down right leg. I went to a massage therapist and it helped for a year but now it's back. I do a lot of stretching prior to running and after. Time to make another appt.

Some years back I had the ..extends to the cheek thing. Did nothing for it and after a while it just went away.

Good luck with it. I'm actually off work and laid up in bed, waiting for my neurosurgeon appt on Monday with that being one of the reasons.

Its debilitating, brother. I've gotten out of my truck at work a few times, only to step wrong and be brought to my knees.
I have a whole host of other back issues as well, but sciatica is a painful one.

I sincerely hope some of the other methods work for you, but they sure didn't for me. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone.

It's not unbearable, but certain movements hurt. It has gotten better over the last few days. Being a process operator though, it really affects my job.

I went thru 5 doctors and a yr and half of pain. Then one Father's Day, my wife bought me a full body massage. When I cashed it in, I told the lady about my pain. She said she would work a little longer on the spot. After that massage, I've been pain free since. That's been about 15 yrs ago. After a follow up with one of the doctors, he told me that I must have relaxed enough to have whatever was putting pressure on that nerve to slip back in place. That was the best $45 my wife ever spent.
