    Question About Towing/Launching/Braking Boats

I'd like to buy a small aluminum jon or semi-v boat with motor & trailer to fish North Texas lakes.

My problem: I own a 2006 Honda Accord Sedan (4 cylinder).

Is that kind of vehicle going to be enough to launch, tow, and brake a boat like that under most circumstances?

I realize that a good pickup or SUV would be the optimal way to pull any boat, and I'm probably looking at buting a new vehicle in a couple of years.

    Experiences? Opinions?

    Thanks.

Alums are generally very lite, you should be able to pull, brake w/o any problems. Launching shouldn't be to bad unless it's a very steep one, then I think hp will be ok but vehicle weight might hinder traction getting up steeper ramps.

        THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^

I have a G3 1652 with a 40 horse. My boat is very light in terms of moving around and launching.

The ramps will be your only issue. If the ramp is steep or slick you will have an issue with traction.

Think of the boat as fat passangers. If you put 4, 250# guys in your car does it drive sluggish and not stop very well? If so u need a boat, motor, and trailer that eats less.

for that boat you DEFINITELY need a dodge 3500 dually with wolf stickers and at LEAST 2 stacks.

Dont forget to pull your mirrors out at all times!
