Bad link, but if it is the harbor freight brand I would stay away from it if you are going to use it a lot. If it is just for around the house use every once in a while it will work. I have a makita and use it everyday sanding handrails on decks and it works great. I also use a the mighty mouse sander and like it a lot as well. My partner uses the rigid (home depot brand) and it seems to work pretty well under everyday use...........

How much hardwoods? If it is just a one time deal, I would rent a floor sander.

If you only use it once in awhile, it will be fine. For like $15 you can buy a 3 year warranty. So, if you use it alot, every couple of months, if it dies, you can replace it.

I've bought alot of tools from them, but only things I use every once in awhile. For things like saws, and drills, ratchet, sockets, just get the name brand (torx, or craftsman, for socket set, IMO, are best).

Of course, I have a drill from them, that refuses to die, I've mixed concrete with it, got it so it was so hot black smoke was coming out, but it just won't die, I use it for jobs, that might fry a tool, so I don't kill either my dewalt, or rigid.

What he said. Buy it right the first time. You'll spend more replacing the POS from Harbor Freight every couple years.

At Harbor Freight, the Chicago Brand is made in China, all HF's tools are Chinese.

You'd be better off with a real brand. (Craftsman, Mikita, Dewalt, etc.). The Milwaukees are expensive

My wife manages a building materials center so I ran this past her. Black and Decker bought DeWalt and Porter Cable. They still make good tools but customer service has gone downhill. Brands that will last a long time and get the job done (in addition to DW and PC) are Ryobi, and Bosch.

For what it's worth, you can sometimes get good deals on power tools at pawn shops.

Makitas are very durable. I drop my tools a lot or knock them off decks. My makitas get abused everyday.........I highly recommend Makita over Dewalt for sure.........Bosch tools are good as well. Wouldn't waste my money on Ryobi.......
