How to get PVC purple primer off the hood of a white car?

    This evening just got worse.

Wife called me earlier today and said she backed into another car in her parking garage in downtown Dallas. Not the end of the world. She left a note with my number and the lady called me and was so relieved she left a note. Our insurance is now taking care of it.

Just now-I bumped a shelf in my garage and knocked a small can of primer on the hood of my car (Platinum white Ford Fusion) of course-it busted open and got that purple crap all over the hood of my car and my freshly epoxied garage floor (that took me two days to do and $200+). I immediately tried wiping out off with a dry towel, but it dried do fast. I then started in on it with some acetone. It got a lot of it, but it's still pretty bad.

    Any suggestions?

That sucks! Hate it when it gets in cracks of your fingers. No idea on how to get it off of paint.

As an irrigator, I'd be happy just knowing how to get it off of dry and cracked hands...tired of walking around with colored hands...

Try calling the manufacturer or look at their website.

I think the problem is going to be that that stuff is a solvent designed to make plastic pipe soft. This may be a repainted hood.

I have been messing with stuff for 20yrs clear primer will get some off but the more you rub it the more your clear coat comes off. That stuff is designed to soften PVC pipe for the bond process. Take it to a body shop they MIGHT be able to buff it out.

Careful with the acetone! It might take off the white of the hood

Tried toothpaste and Goo Off. I think it's as good as its going to get.

Jim-I'm going to follow your advice.
