How much beer and wine do I need for this party?

    From 4pm to 8pm on a Saturday.

I have 97 adults ranging from 25-75 with the average being around 50-55yo.

Split almost even between men and women.

Depends on whether they are on the Pro Circuit on Champions tour.

The light or non drinkers will outnumber the pros 2:1.

Buy a keg and a big trashcan. Fill it with ice. (or 10 cases of mixed brands if that is your angle)

14 bottles of wine. 7 white and 7 red

                More than I can afford!

It's been a while since I planned for a party like that, but I think you'd better assume an average of 4 drinks per person. And then add some extra of each since you probably don't know exactly how many will want what. Plus, you'll need white and red wine.

This can vary a bit depending on the type of party. At the lake? Double it—at least. A come and go reception, cut it down.

Then invite the Green Screen over for an 8 pm - till its gone party to drink up the extra!

I would say plan on no more than 1 drink per hour per person. So that would be 388 drinks for that time period. If there is more there will be someone who overdoes it. There always is.
Any more than that and you may have a liability issue with anyone drinking and driving. That is what I would do if I was throwing the shindig.

Make them bring their own pleasure beverage, and then you provide water and non alcoholic beverages. Then if something should happen(hopefully it won't) you cannot be charged for over serving them.

Re Overserving: We have two certified bartenders working for us. They both carry insurance for this stuff.

Was thinking about 12-14 cases of beer(Miller Lite, Coors Lite and Shiner) and 12 bottles of wine(8 white and 4 red). Party will be outside so I think the red drinkers will be minimal.
