Funny you say that! I once asked John Erickson if Hank the Cowdog was inspired by a lacy. He said no, Hank was inspired by numerous dogs - but none of which was a lacy.

I need to get some pics of Hank tonite, I didn't come up with the name a buddy did but he said that the first thing he thought when he saw the pup was that he looks EXACTLY like the drawings of Hank in the books.

Steve he ain't a lover of Pigs, Coons, Cows, anything four legged but he's figuring out that anything that bleeds is fun to find

I'd put up one of my dog (Buck) smiling but I'm at school and this is the only picture I have on my laptop. He weighs about 100 pounds but wouldn't hurt a fly.
