Chandeleur Islands

We are leaving for the islands on Thursday aboard the "The VI". Anybody been out there this summer? I've heard that the fishing has been slow. Hopefully that changes in the next few days.

at least you are going early enough that the sharks shouldn't be as big of an issue if you are wade fishing.

Stolle do you have any direct contact info for the booking agent for "The VI" or their other boat? My mom has been trying to get in touch with them for 2 weeks now to try to get a date booked with them and she has not been able to get in touch with them or get a return phone call

Buddy of mine here at work was there a couple weeks back. They caught a ton of specks but most were fairly small. They saw a ton of sharks when they were there also... that's nothing out of the ordinary though.

I sent a email to my buddy that has been in contact with them. I will let you know what I find out.

I have been twice and I think a 16in spec is the biggest i have caught. I had more fun shark fishing off the mother boat at night. Had a couple I just could not stop. It was a blast!

Lots of big sharks out there! My biggest trout last year was 24 and some change. My brother topped me on the last morning with a 25"er about 5 minutes before we had to head back to the mother ship. Lot of footballs out there.

We were scheduled to board Southern Way Charters last Thursday for a 3 day trip. It's a 72' expedition yacht. I was really pumped, but the trip was canceled due to weather. Pretty bummed.......but hope you have a great trip!

Ive had 3 different trips booked to go over the last 5 years, all 3 have been cancelled due to weather. I finally gave up, I guess i was not meant to fish the islands...hope y'all wreck em stolle
