The mom being home or not home does not have anything to do with that kid at this point he is twisted. And it may be because of the lack of supervision bad deal.

Wow that is messed up but I have a question...

What is the legal age to leave a kid at home alone? My kids are little so i do not know what that age is. I know when we were 11, during the summer we were left home alone.

        Just curious.

I don't know if there is an actual legal age to leave a kid alone. I would think it would depend on the maturity level of the kid.
I know we (my two sisters and me) were left alone in grade school, but we were taught to respect our parents and their wishes early on in life and we could be trusted not to spill any blood or burn something down while we were left alone cause we knew there would be an old fashioned Hee-Haw beat down when dad got home if something was messed up!

Jetlag has it correct. It depends on maturity and a child being in a "substantial risk".

I had a case that I investigated with a 9 year old child caring for a 6 month old baby while momma went out to party. CPS interviewed the 9 year old and he knew more about caring for the baby than the mother. The child knew how to sterilize the baby bottles, how to get the formula to the correct temperature, etc. He knew how to secure the house, how to call 911 and could contact the next door neighbors if he needed more help.

In short, the baby was in better care with the 9 year old than the mother. CPS ended up taking the baby and placed it with a relative but they neither sought criminal charges nor did the DA accept any. The 9 year old was mature enough not only to care for himself but of the infant.

On the other hand, a 12 year old might not be able to stay home alone.

Well if that's not a warning sign slapping everyone in the face then I don't know what is. I don't know where they send kids like that, but he needs to go and never get out. I would like to say that the "country boy" in me says to just knock him in the head and be done with it before he starts cutting people into pieces, but that's not PC. What I do know is that little freak should never be allowed out in the free world again.
