Try the floating swimsuits, Codie. Our boys grew up wearing them anywhere around water.

They have them all the way down to toddlers. Not USCG approved but, plenty buoyant and comfortable. Just have a toddler USCG approved one on hand if you get checked by GW.

Speedo makes a good looking one but it is not Coast Guard approved. This is what I think you would want, just legal.

exactly! I saw that one earlier and thought I had found what I was looking for until I saw that it was not coast guard approved.

My girls love the puddle jumper life jackets. It's good to know they are coast guard approved.

Try it. When my daughter was only 20 pounds or so I put her in one of these and it worked great, fit like a glove. Now she's ~40 pounds and still wearing the same one... no problems.

With our 2yr old being even smaller than he was when he didn't like it I am worried that it would constrict his arms to much. I just want a thin, tight vest with no head flap attached to it for a child under 30lbs and it is not looking like it is available, but I seriously might just get one and carefully cut the head flap off of it.
Codie puddle jumper is. What my 3 and 2 yr use my 3 year old is 47 lbs and 2 year old is 32 lbs and works great on both they get use to it.

What size, I have something similar hanging in the garage from when I actually had a boat. If it fits, I'll send it your way. Shoot me a pm with your cell or email for pics.

Codie we have one we got for the oldest grandson it is made by Ski Pro. It has a rear zipper and has shorts on the bottom and no head rest. This size is child long and it is 40-50 pounds and is Coast Guard approved. I got it at North Texas Marine in Gainesville.

Tried on the 30-50 pound vests and it fit just fine adjusted to its smallest size. Thanks for the tip on trying out the childrens size instead of the toddler size!
