Hey guys. I'm looking to try out some new broadheads before deer season comes back around, and kinda get an idea on what works with my bow and my preferences. I currently use the Montec three blade 100 gr. which work great, but I don't want to stick with something without trying other options that could potentially work better. Really I would like to keep using the 100 gr broadheads so I won't have to adjust my sights. Right now by bow is set at 60#, I've had it there for a couple of years now and am comfortable with it there. So, I'm asking you guys for suggestions on broadheads to try out, and whether or not I should go to a two blade.

Why go to a 2 blade? I look at total slice of my heads. I want the biggest cut, most slice head that I can push all the way through the target animal at the max distance that I'll take a shot. If your 3 blade is a typical 1 1/8 to 1 3/16 cut head, you have over 1 1/2 inches of total slice. If you have a 2 blade that is 1 1/2 inches that will fly well, then slice is a wash. Then it's just a matter of whether you like to cut in 3 directions instead of 2.

Two blade cut on impact are the easiest to tune and they will penetrate like the dickens. I have never had a problem getting my animal with a two blade head. I shoot nothing else.
Why do you think that the guys who hunt dangerous game use a two blade head. There is a reason, and that is call penetration.

With deer, penetration is seldom a problem. A 2 blade out of a modern compound will just dig deeper in the dirt on the other side of a deer. For dangerous game, smaller slice would be better for penetration. Common sense just tells you the bigger the animal, the less slice you want in order to get a pass through. For deer, penetration is worried about way too much. I stick 2 inch diameter three blades in the ground on the other side of deer, and I only shoot 60 lbs.
