    Two blade or three blade

Hey guys. I'm looking to try out some new broadheads before deer season comes back around, and kinda get an idea on what works with my bow and my preferences. I currently use the Montec three blade 100 gr. which work great, but I don't want to stick with something without trying other options that could potentially work better. Really I would like to keep using the 100 gr broadheads so I won't have to adjust my sights. Right now by bow is set at 60#, I've had it there for a couple of years now and am comfortable with it there. So, I'm asking you guys for suggestions on broadheads to try out, and whether or not I should go to a two blade.

whatever works best for you is the right answer but i have been using 100 grain 3 blade muzzys for the last 5 years and this year i tried the rage 2 blades and i like them too. these are the two that i will use this coming year.

Why go to a 2 blade? I look at total slice of my heads. I want the biggest cut, most slice head that I can push all the way through the target animal at the max distance that I'll take a shot. If your 3 blade is a typical 1 1/8 to 1 3/16 cut head, you have over 1 1/2 inches of total slice. If you have a 2 blade that is 1 1/2 inches that will fly well, then slice is a wash. Then it's just a matter of whether you like to cut in 3 directions instead of 2.

I like the three blades, I agree, they have a better slice and bigger hole, but some say the two blades make 'em bleed better. Again, I guess its just all about preference.

I was always a three-blade fixed head fan... until I shot a few deer last season with the 2-blade Rage. Now they are my broadhead of choice by far. Awesome holes and bloodtrails.

Two blade cut on impact are the easiest to tune and they will penetrate like the dickens. I have never had a problem getting my animal with a two blade head. I shoot nothing else.
Why do you think that the guys who hunt dangerous game use a two blade head. There is a reason, and that is call penetration.

I've always shot two and have always been satisfied with the performance.

With deer, penetration is seldom a problem. A 2 blade out of a modern compound will just dig deeper in the dirt on the other side of a deer. For dangerous game, smaller slice would be better for penetration. Common sense just tells you the bigger the animal, the less slice you want in order to get a pass through. For deer, penetration is worried about way too much. I stick 2 inch diameter three blades in the ground on the other side of deer, and I only shoot 60 lbs.
