    Something Eating My Feeder

I have a creature eating away at my Moultrie plastic feeder. I'm guessing it's a squirrel. Anyone else ever had this happen?

Squirrels do that, this is the main reason I got away from plastic barrels. I have had them get in the drum and not be able to get back out and die.

Yeah, guess I'll stick to the metal ones from now on.

They eat right through my PVC hog roller as well.

Yep, squirrels. I walked up one time and about 10 of them were in there having a great time.

Yes, learned the hard way. Lost an entire feeder full of corn cause they ate a hole in the top and the corn got wet. Only metal barrels from now on.

                      Yep squirrels
Not sure if they are chewing to get into the feed or if they just like to chew

Took down a climbing stick that had a plastic plug in the top and there were a couple sets of teeth marks in the plastic. I think they just like to chew on stuff and getting to the corn is a bonus

Yes it's the squirrels. They did it to me too. I made a metal lid in the sheet metal shop to fit over the feeder and they haven't gotten in since. Click image for larger version

With that tree ladder you have going to the top of the feeder, I'm surprised you don't have problems with coons too.

Buy a real lid. Problem solved.

This is especially nasty when they've wedged themselves into the plastic barrel funnel and you have to yank what's left of the carcass out with pliers.
