Minnesota Walleye Trip - Recap In Pixels

These scenes are from the Bois Forte Indian tribe on Lake Vermillion near Tower Minnesota. My better half’s uncle and his respective family are people of the Bois Forte Tribal Nation.

"The Lake of the Sunset Glow" or in it's native name Onamuni. French fur traders translated this name into the Latin word "Vermillion," which is a red pigment.

As the years roll on, my hope, we can continue to enjoy the splendor of these wonderful people and their magical Lake of the Sunset Glow!

My first walleye - broke the ice and it was on! I worked Rapala swimbaits along the shoreline in roughly 5 - 15ft of water.

Never made the time to do any "serious" fishing during the year I spent living in central MN. I did learn I'm not worth spit when it comes to baiting a lindy rig with a leech though.

Beautiful pics and color me jealous.
