    Anyone play the Lottery?

Been thinking about buying 1 or 2 tickets a week just for fun. What do you play and do you ever win?

I'll play a line or two every week. I prefer the regular Texas Lotto over the Powerball and Megamillions. Although the Texas Lotto jackpots are typically smaller, your odds of winning are better. Powerball jackpot is something like 1 in 150 million. Texas lotto is 1 in 75 million; so it's almost half. I've hit 4 out of 6 numbers on the Texas lotto 3 times.

Sure, it's pretty much a waste of money, however, I don't see the harm in a couple dollars each week going towards potentially winning an amount that could possibly change my life for the better.

It's all about how you choose to spend your money. Some people pay $4 for a cup of coffee everyday and turn around and call the lottery stupid.

Exactly. I play from time to time, maybe $5 here or $10 there, once every couple of months. You never know......my dad's uncle won 2 million way back when it first came out here in Texas.

When I was young my grandmother owned a convenient store. People would come in and spend a ton of money on scratch offs while buying everything else with food stamps. Like CaptainDave said though, everyone wastes money on something. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a lottery ticket. My grandparents were one number shy of winning the lotto twice but they quit playing years ago.

Ill buy a $2 scratch off about twice a month when I'm feeling froggy. I cannot remember the last time I actually won anything, let alone a break even prize. Waste of money, but ill still play it for sh*ts and giggles.

I do. I call it voluntary taxes. A dollar for the price of a day dream.

I will usually put $5-10 on the big ones when they get up big. I have guys at work that spend $20-40 a day on scratch offs and I bet they may recover about 1/10 of what they spend. But you never know when your number is going to be called.

I play semi regularly, Just a couple bucks here and there for a daydream, I am usually fairly lucky on scratch offs, but don't play them as much as I used to

I play less now than in the beginning. The most I won was $1000 on a Break the Bank scratch off and $953 on cash 5 - I think I had 4 numbers. I try to buy tickets when we're passing through some of the small towns.

If you play scratch offs, you can look on the Texas Lotto website and check and see which cards have the highest probability. And you can see how many of which prizes are left out there.

Usually play once a week and will buy a scratch off every once in a while
