    Hog hunts in Oklahoma

Ok guy my wife asked me what I wanted for Father's Day and I told a hog hunt would be great. Anyone know a cheap place to go or know someone who has hogs or do u have a place with hogs. Don't wanna spend a lot of money on a hog hunt and I don't even care about size would like to stick one with a beman arrow.

Thanks for the support Passthrough and Tommyh! My husband and I own Shiloh Ranch Hunting Camp near Stonewall. chrischop04, before you choose an outfitter I would recommend you Google "outfitter reviews" and read, read and read some more. Good luck to you wherever you go!

I just hate to spend that much when if u know the right person they will let u hunt them for free because they want them gone

Well, i guess you better meet that person then!
You have to realize the feed and operation costs of a ranch.

Public land sounds like a better option for you.

What part of Oklahoma are you in? I can help point you to some public land where folks have at least seen hogs. They are a tough proposition at best if you don't have a consistent feed source to hunt.

Be very cautious though when you call to inquire about pricing at other operations. Most will charge a trophy fee for animals over X pounds, or with X inches of tusk. Sadly, we've had some clients who hunted those places and didn't know there were trophy fees until after they shot the animals. Also, if they offer multiple hogs for one "low" price, there may not be many hogs on the place. If you think about it, anyplace that lets you shoot multiple, or even unlimited hogs will probably be shot out by hunters way before you get there. Lastly, another bait and switch method we hear of frequently is places that offer free range hog hunts on thousands of acres, but then when you get there they tell you that the hogs have moved out, but you can salvage your hunt by hunting in their small acreage pen, usually stocked with domestic pigs since they're cheaper to acquire than feral hogs are.

We've heard several of these from folks who have hunted other places before they came to hunt with us, so make sure you ask a lot of questions before booking with a bargain basement operation.
