We were in Israel last year. Lots of strange (to us) customs during the sabbath. They cannot drive a car but can ride if a non Jewish drives. In the hotel in addition to the elevator being on auto they would leave their hotel room doors closed on the security latch as they could not use the card key.

Mostly cold stuff for meals in the dining room. Also dairy and meats must be stored in different fridges.
