    2011 F250 AC Problems

I have had my truck at 2 dealers 4 different times and the AC is still not working right. It blows cold for a few seconds and then it blows hot. I opened the hood and the compressor cuts on and off for what seams the same amount of time as it blows cold. Its been at the dealer all week. I picked up Wednesday after they claimed they replaced a high pressure hose and high pressure switch. I took it right back and the evacuated the system think it had air in it. Well today they said it was working. It blows colder, but still off and on. Any Ford mechanics on here have any idea's? I'm about to the point where I'm thinking about trading it in on Monday if they have some good deals going.

These early build 2011's had some issues with the evaporators leaking, but your problem is different. I have had some have bad blend door actuators that can alternate from cold to hot. Hope they checked all the obvious things first. These newer vehicle have the PCM control the compressor so there is a lot going on in these things. I hope they got it fixed right for you, good luck.

I'm also getting a musty smell when it stops cooling. I have 23,000 left on my extended warranty. Really don't want to trade it off, but I have to have AC. I'm also having shifting issues from 2-3 that they can't figure out. Wonder if I have a bad PCM? They always fall back saying the upgraded the PCM or reset the PCM. It never fixes the problem.

        Stolle,

It sounds very similar to my A/C problem that I was, and still am, having. See thread below:

I still have the same problem, but have just ignored it. Sounds pretty silly to ignore something like this when you pay that kind of money for a new truck, but I took it to two different ford dealerships and they said it was normal. Normal or not, if it does end up breaking, I at least have proof that I took it in for this issue while it was still under warranty. My A/C will blow real cold, then cycle off and blow warm air....then the compressor kicks on and it blows real cold for about 10 seconds, and then shuts off....the cycle never ends. Only difference with mine is it hisses a bit when the A/C compressor kicks on and it starts blowing cold. The dealerships told me this was normal in the early 6.7's and its just what they do to maintain the internal cabin temp. Take it for what you will. Good luck and post up if you find a solution.

Matt, I don't know about the new ones, but sounds like a vacuum issue to me. I had issues with my 99

I'm getting the hissing noise as well. I will keep you updated. It did not do this when it was new. I refuse to ignore it.

Had similar issues with my 2002. They ended up replacing the compressor. The process was a pain in the arse, b/c it was in/out 3x.

Well its back in the shop. Yesterday the AC worked on and off for an hour. Then worked like normal for an hour. Then once I hit Houston it stopped completely and baked me for the last 45 minutes home.
