If in a skillet it is not fajitas....more like chinese pepper steak.

I have never heard of anyone slicing fajitas before they cook them.

I know that it says fajitas on that package but the is actually carnitas. I guess you could make a carnitas taco and if on flour tortillas with bell pepper and onion you could call it a fajita. Most of the time pork carnitas are eaten on corn tortillas with onions and cilantro.

Well okay then! I assumed as much but when I was reading thru some of the discada threads and noticed the fajitas all cut up I started second guessing myself. Makes sense but I thought I would ask anyways!

        Thanks for the quick replies.

Well they actually had a separate type of pork packaged as Carnitas. I guess maybe it had different seasonings?

not sure how you could slice first then throw on the grill.
**give them 30 minutes in a combo of soy, pineapple and water and thank me later (oh, and Pappasitto's)

Like mine still pretty rare so I grill then cut. And I too use the HEB pre marinated stuff too. Works out pretty good. Before I put the meat on, I cut up bell peppers mushrooms and onions and put a little Allegro and butter in an iron skillet and put that on the grill first. When they have cooked down to almost ready, I put the fajita flank steaks on... take em all off at the same time and heat up a few tortillas on the grill and in no time, you've got a meal fit for a king!

Wouldn't throw them on the grill if I sliced them first. I want them to be tender so if it is better to slice them and cook them in a skillet then I would do that.

So maybe that is a different question. Would you cook them whole on the grill or slice them and cook'em in a skillet? (I don't have a disc)

Cook then cut. HEB brand's quality has went going downhill imo. I see you hunt in Edwards County. If you drive through Uvalde, you should stop at Uvalde Meat Mkt and pick up some of their beef fajitas. You won't be disappointed.

Sales plot. The ones that say fajitas are for the yuppies that don't know what carnitas are. LOL.

Our HEB makes fresh Tortillas right there in the store too. Got a couple bags of those as well. That place is awesome.

Oh and slice up a couple three jalapenos, a yellow onion and some bell pepper. Wrap in foil with butter and a little garlic salt and set to the side on the grill while the fajitas are cookin

Well now you have and by the way, I have been told numerous times by many folks that my fajitas where the best they have ever ate thanks to the Ragin Blaze Fajita Seasoning. But I guess according to everyone else, I've been doing it all wrong.
