Getting geared up for sharks!

There coming in....caught a baby last weekend on my trout rod..too rough to run the long poles out...also our favorite passtime in the summer we surf fish...kayak all the poles we have out before dark on friday night when we fet down there amd drink beer by the fire. Great way to start a weekend of fishing

Surf is a blast. But I got targeting big bull sharks down to a art. We catch nothing but 5'-7' bulls in the bay. The numbers of big bull sharks living in the bay would blow your mind.

I know you said you were tagging them for A&M research, does that allow you to use parts of gamefish for bait?

Sand trout stomachs (if they are big enough) are what I typically use and I love jack fish if I can get them. But I use the head and filet back the filets and use them as chum. Those stomachs in the picture are off of some big gulf trout my buddy brought me from a short rigs trip. (The picture is deceiving makes them look a lot bigger)

Looks like a blast. I would love to start catchin sharks. I just need some money to get rigged up correctly. Not trying to catch the big bulls just some surf fishing. Hopefully one day soon.

Sand Trout/Gulf trout are not a species of gamefish in Texas. Hes good to go on those bellys.
