I agree with Snakelover. Wal-Mart is pandering.

I just read in the new edition of the Lone Star Outdoor News yesterday that 2,000 Wal-Mart stores are going to totally do away with or significantly reduce their fishing departments; very similar to what they did with their gun/hunting departments at several stores last year.

Seems as though hunter's and fishermen don't fit into Wal-Mart's new image.

But hey, it's all about the dollar right? I personally try to avoid Wal Mart as much as possible. Not trying to force my beliefs on everyone but I choose to support stores that support me and my interests and beliefs.

There's a little thing called the Constitution. It says we have the right to bear arms and that we are innocent until proven guilty and that there should be no unreasonable searches and seizures...the Government is convincing Wal-Mart to do what the Constitution won't allow the Government to do itself.

How so? Wal-mart/government is not taking away our right to bear arms. They are not treating us as guilty. They are not searching us...so an unreasonable search is not in question. They are not taking our guns, so there is no unreasonable seizure. Our faces are on film are no different than they are every day at the ATM machine, grocery store, resturant, gas station, quick mart, etc.

I would just hate to see you get caught up in jumping to conclusions about constitutional rights being broken. I bet there were a ton of people that cried the same argument when people started having to get driver's licences, and then again when you had to get your picture taken for the license, and then again when they started using digital cameras, and keeping your picture in a database.... ....yep...."they" already have a picture of all of us.

Shotguns had to be registered and if you want to own one that holds more than two shells you have to prove why you need one (self defense is not a reason).
After another shooting in 1996, handguns were banned. By 1997 even single shot .22's stored at shooting ranges were included. Since they were registered, they new where all the handguns were. (those owned by law abiding citizens anyway) A few years ago they had a big "firearm amnesty" program to prompt people to turn in illegal guns. More than 30,000 guns were collected, mostly ancient long guns of variious types. Very few handguns were turned in and almost no guns of any type were turned in in the urban centers where most crime occurs.

But you can still own a gun.I did a quick search this afternoon.I just googled "hunting in england".Dozens of sites for outfitters came up.Everything from bird hunting to Red Stag.
Yes there are bans on certain types of guns, and all others are heavily regulated, but private gun ownership is not illegal.
