    Conflict who is right

Here's the deal my wife got offered a job making 10 an hr mon-fri 8-5 right now she works at lowes making 9 I think working fri 5 till 9 sat and sun 8-5 and we are doing fine with the money we are making now between the both of us. I work mon tue fri sat one week the next week I work sun wed thur 7-7 so every other weekend off also for 28 days I work nights the next 28 days I work days if she takes this job we would only see each other every other weekend. Is it even worth the little extra money if we never see each other.

What's the long term outlook for her if she changes jobs? Is this a growth opportunity?

It's just an office job she may max out at 12 an hr but no more than that

Not worth possibly sacrificing quality time with your family. Remember, you can't buy the time back that you miss with your family...ask me how I know! FWIW...but that's just me!

I never see my family but the money I make gives them what they want but in the other hand I wish I could be home more often to see them ...., its either make more money which equals less family time or less money equals family time in my book!

But talk it over and make the best decision between both of u all and at that point u all will have a better conclusion of what's to come, wish u the best partner!

                  From my experience, no.

                  Been there, done that.

My opinion...whichever job will make HER the happiest. Because what it all boils down to is if she is not happy in her job, she won't be happy anywhere!

I recently turned down a 25% raise to stay at my current position, just because after comparing the environment of both opportunities I found my current position to be the one that would make me happier.

Really tough to say, I've done opposite shifts to avoid paying for child care and took the loss on family time. Depends on the bind you may be in and how happy you both are with your positions. A little extra $$$ is not always worth it

I see her point on the extra money but we are making bills just fine. I also know she is gonna hate not being with the girls as much

As far as the money goes, for the most part- the more you make the more you spend- so the "extra" money will usually get consumed one way or another.

Another thought- office job = a little more of a higher end wardrobe than your average Lowes employee gets away with. No disrespect- I bet the Lowes clothes are more comfortable.
But office attire will be more costly since they can't get away with wearing the same outfit over and over.

I'm just saying that the money spent on wardrobe and fuel for the further commute is going to eat away at the extra takehome income.

But in the end it's up to her, she needs to do what she thinks is going to make her happiest.

It'd be nice if she could do a trial period where if she didn't care for the new positions she could revert back to Lowes.
