........I checked them at the lease before I yanked them and the digital display is fritzed on one and a few lines are missing on the other. Luckily I do have my receipts so we'll see what Moultrie is all about..... right ......Humper...

They both work but the time, temp and date is jacked up on the fritzed one's pics as well. I guessed it just took a digital dump after 8 months.

i just got a new i40 in the mail today. i am testing it as we speak. it is taking picture in the house when walk by.

i will be putting it out this weekend when i go to the lease

Good luck. By the way my new replacement vortex bino's came in last Friday. No receipt required, no questions, no hassles and a brand new replacement set. Hope it works out for you and the bottom line.

Moultrie better stand behind them. They put out some real junk for several years and finally seem to have a winner. As I stated in an earlier thread. I think TC's are made to last a couple of years. Mfr. quits making them and warranty is gone, they tell you SOL.

I've had good luck with Moultries warranty. They replaced a defective 200 with a D40 at no cost. Other than me paying shipping to get it to them.

Reminds me of solar panels on digital watches. It seemed like every cheap black plastic watch had them back in the ~80's then they disappeared.
My theory is the watch makers quit selling watches because they lasted so long with the solar panels keeping the battery charged. The amount of watches being sold when the battery just went dead probably dropped to nil so out with the solar panel, back in with the stand alone battery.

Quality is fine until it gets in the way of future profit.

Just possibly something to look at... On one of mine, I checked it one day and it didn't hardly take any pictures, the time and date were both off, and the digital screen was blinking. It turned out to be a little corrosion on the battery terminal, which didn't allow it to get a good connection.

Moultrie will stand behind the warranty. I have warrantied several, one because it gave up the ghost and one because I dropped it and it never worked the same. I have 2 of the D40's and they work great, good picture quality and easy to use.
