LIVE predator/hog hunt s. tx.- already got unwanted action!

Me and suebird are out here with the fox pro trying to get us a predator or some piggies since they have been on cams around 1am the passed few nights BUT we walk up to the stand by where we set up in pitch black and hear an odd noise movin 6 ft from the stand so we shine the light up and sure enough a fat old 5ft rattlebug scurrying off!!!! Nearly crapped ourselves since we just caught a 7ft bull snake earlier today! But were up and calling Hopin for the best now!
BE CAUTIOUS SNAKES are a movin!!!!

Super windy out here. What do yall use in high winds? Or what's everyone's favorites? And for what intervals?

George west off 281 south. Well we turned in way to dang windy out here but that rattler came back and was curled up about 15 yards behind the stand so he got a 270 bullet to the head and also picked off a coon out of a big oak tree next to our pond and saw 2 others scurry off. All in all a good kills I suppose. Also rattle bug was 5'7" pics comin soon!

Rattler officially measured 6"1' a lot bigger than we thought. Got him skinned up now and went from yote hunting to kill a coon night! Will keep y'all late nighters updated

that is why I kill all snakes, saves me money in the long run not having to buy new underwear all the time.

If it's windy, get down in the creek bottoms with shotguns. They will be laying up in the bottoms to escape the wind and the heat. Close quarters work but the action is fast and furious. Don't run your call really loud and move frequently - starting on the downwind end of the creek and work your way up the creek calling relatively softly. If you have a decoy, use it. If you don't, hang a feather or even a piece of toilet paper of a stick and use that - it'll keep their attention focused. An important factor when calling close quarters.

In high winds the higher pitch sounds will travel further. I like the Snowshoe HP.

Keep the call running - no intervals. Intervals means 'movement' and when it's really tight, that's a big no-no

I've had some very good days calling like this.

                        Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! We will go out and try this in the next week or so. Always can use some tips. We are fairly new to the foxpro calling and have seen some success but been in a slump lately. We will keep everyone updated on our many late night hunts this summer for some yotes. I've only really used jackrabbit distress and coyote locator any other calls work good?
