Ugh! Probably wrong, but I just have to VENT. Number one, I gamble, not much at casinos but with stocks/bonds. I've made a decent amount of money over the years, basically because I just don't tell the wife at times. Now, I will say this is from my 401/457 plan from my previous work. One year I made almost $70,000 playing the stock market, so I don't think that is too bad.
Well, January 2012 I gambled a bit with my TD Ameritrade and bought over 36,000 shares of American Airlines at .58 cents a share. January of this year, she started going crazy, telling me that her brother, who has no clue but "knows people," told her that I had better sell it all because it was merging and going down to .13 cents a share and I was going to lose my butt. Well, after a week of listening to her go on and on and on and on and on and on, I finally got tired of listening to her and sold most of it. I know I shouldn't have, but trying to keep peace in the household.
Well today, I'm checking what I have left and of course, it is not up to $6.22 a share. Hmm, my math puts that, if I still had what I had bought, at over $225,000.00 dollars. Basically, about a $20,000.00 investment would have turned into that.
And of course today she is throwing a hissy fit because I should have bought some more at a higher rate.
Did I say ugh yet.....
