I've always used blue loctite on my scopes. And yes, I also torque everything to spec. I'm a firm beleiver in mount it once, and mount it right. I prefer to use an old torque wrench a buddy has that has been around a little. If he's not in town I use a wheeler engineering FAT wrench that can be gotten from midwayusa.com.

Can't imagine that you would need it. Once torqued correctly, I've never had a screw back off. If you feel you must, DO NOT use the red. If you do, consider your scope permanently attached.
Blue!!! It's removable with hand tools. Red must be heated over 500 degrees to make it release. That much heat would make a mess of the scope seals. As others have said, it's probably not necessary, but it can't hurt. The Blue stuff that is.
blue loctite.... wheeler fat wrench and weaver makes a good one also. i am using the weaver at the moment (it was a gift and works very well, so idk the price)
i ALWAYS torque to specs.... why wouldnt you? especially on my heavy hitting calibers
Some times. The loctite at work we use it's all in a red bottle. But the bottle will say Medium strength, have a blue stripe on it, or something to that effect. I've also had it in a white bottle.
i use blue, the only scopes Ive had losen up are a couople that I didnt use it on, thats why I started.
I also had a front sight of a 22 pistol continually coming lose. Blue stopped it. We shoot, Or used to shoot a lot of 22. Be glad when folks stop horading and flipping it
