HELP w/ riding mower. hydrostatic drive question.

over the weekend, i pulled the lever that puts the drive in neutral so that it can be manually moved around. now, it will not move at all in either direction. not sure if this is coincidental, or where to begin troubleshooting it. fires up and runs fine as always and all belts are good and in place (i think). i have to start it by depressing the clutch, so that appears to be working normally too.

Double check your drive belt underneath. They have a habit of slipping off the pully when doing that. Then fiddle with the lever more to make sure it engaged fully. That's all I have had happen to me.

Yes, it is a Sears (Craftsman) mower. The lever in the back is the lever I pulled out so that I could move it. After it was returned back to it's normal position, it now won't move either direction. After looking more closely underneath, the drive belt seems to have A LOT of play in and appears to be much looser than I remember it from before.

It stays lose untill you release the clutch. Pull the back plate off the mower and look at the flywheel and see if the belt is still on the pully.
