I drove around with a map of the place and found the lots that were for sale, when I found one that was for sale and I liked I drove back up to the office and bought it. Seen lots of sign of hogs and a good bit of deer
"Bowhunting only - plenty of doe and hogs, ocassional bobcat/coyote. 1.5 hours north of The Woodlands in Normangee. Plus fishing (5 small lakes) and free golf (18 hole course). It requires you to be a property owner, but that can be fairly cheap. Lots go for $300-500 on average - plus $35 a month for POA dues. These are 1/4 acre lots - more like "stand placements". Sometimes you can luck up and find a few lots together. It ain't much but it's a year round place to sling an arrow. The POA association has a list of lots for sale - ask for Dianna at the welcome center. Most lots will require you to do some clearing for shooting lanes (mostly youpon). They have a website for more information. www.hilltoplakes.com. If you have any more questions let me know."
This was a post I made on another thread a few weeks back. The deer hunting is primarily doe only. We are a MLD2 property, so we use state issued tags. Doe/Buck ratio according to biologist is 5:1. So they only want does killed until that is brought back into check. The entire property is overpopulated with deer and hogs. It is a very economical way to get your hunting fix for sure. I love being up there and getting out of Houston for a while. If you have any more questions, give me a holler or do a search for "Hilltop Lakes". You'll find a lot of information that has already been posted.

I am highly considering getting in on this. My issue is living 2 1/2 hours from hill top where would I stay? Are there camp grounds an RV park or decent cheap hotel around???
Just got back from there today...
RV and tent sites. Very clean and have toilets/showers with washer and dryer you can also use. RV sites go for 17 a night for property owners.
They also have a hotel that is super cheap. I think its 50 a night for property owners. It is open to anyone just at slightly higher rates. So you can go check it out for the weekend before you buy if you wish.
Also have a restaurant. Very limited menu but it beats driving to town to get something if you don't feel like cooking.
You can store your RV up there for 10 a month as well.
The biggest bonus is that everyone that I have met so far from the office staff to the waitress is that everyone is soooo super friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you out.
And there is tons and I mean tons of tracks. I can't wait till the season starts.
Hope this helps.

^^^This is spot on. I've stayed at the hotel. Nothing to write home about, but very clean. Makes for a nice hunting weekend. Also, the Wildlife Team has a really nice covered cleaning station for after the kill.
