Need DFW area Dog Training info please

With a little on the way I need to have my wiemeraner taken to a good trainer to get her out of her habit of jumping up on people. Anyone know of a good dog trainer in the DFW area that does obedience training and retreiver training. Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

I used to use Andy Ferg at Slaterock Kennels out near Ferris, he was real good and had a good way with the dogs. Stay away from North Texas Retrievers, not good people. Long story, PM if you want details.

You might want to check with Roger Conant of Landmark Retrievers in Ennis (near the drag racing track). He has trained both of my dogs and trains all breeds in obediance & gun dog. He is located off of Cooks Lane in Ennis.

That's a pretty easy one to handle at home. If the dog knows "no" then have everyone in the house stick a knee it the dogs chest and say no in a very loud angry voice. It doesn't take long.

            jlptexashunter,

I've been doing that for 2 years now and it has not slowed her down a bit. Every trainer I have talked to so far on the phone has told me that me telling her "no" is the main reason that she still does it. Kinda confuses me, but I'm not a trainer for a living either so I'll leave it up to them.

As soon as her front paws clear the floor, stomp on her back toes.
