** How to approach non hunters about hunting on property in Oklahoma?**

Wife told me she has an old friend from her hayday's and the friend and her non hunting spouse purchased around 400 acres bordering a lake in Oklahoma recently, and she was telling my wife about all the wildlife she sees on a daily basis.
I asked my wife to put in a good word for me, and she thinks it would be best for me to approach her and her husband.
So I'm planning on taking the family up to meet them for a dinner on me of course, Question is any ideas how to approach them?
    Thanks for the ideas

I would just ask if they considered allow you to hunt in exchange for helping with some basic services. Such as fence mending, and things of that sort. Then both parties are getting benefits from it.

Who knows, he might even become interested enough to try hunting himself.

All I can say is good luck. My Dad never allowed me to hunt his land because I had a crazy PETA loving step mother. However, once he finally kicked her to the curb, it was game on! I would get to know them well first before I ever mentioned hunting. Once you establish a friendship, then I would start planting the seed!

This sounds like a good plan in my books

In conversation just come out and politely ask, best done with a couple of drinks in them and after some laughs. Hopefully you will have found and talked about other things you have in common. If you think she may be a bambi lover may be better to get in on hogs if they have any.....good luck, worse they can do is say no. I do notice non hunters are more receptive to bowhunting "more fair"....

Mention to them over some drinks how wild it is that local whitetails have been attacking people, and it seems that hunting is the only method proven to deter these deer from doing such. Its gotta work.

It is easier to get permission from non hunters. If they hunted they surely wouldn't let you hunt their land

Are they NON-hunters, or ANTI-hunters? Huge difference.

This....most people associate non hunters with ANTI-hunters. Of all the non hunters I meet her in NJ, very few are really anti. If they are non hunters you have a good chance.....anti, don't even bother.
