    Light-weight tripod

I recently inquired about a light weight tripod, someone referred me to southtexastripodsandfeeders.com. I like the weight on their's but was checking to see if anyone here has sat in one to see if there like and dislikes etc. Any other brands of these type tripods? Thanks

For a lightweight, mobile, tripod - you cannot beat South Texas Tripods. The only negative i had was that the foot rail is small. It's hard to stretch your legs. If weight and mobility are the primary criteria, South Texas Tripods are hard to beat.

Hard to beat the Millennium tripods, I believe they weight a little less than 30 pounds. I know I love mine, very light and easy to carry and a very comfy seat

Thanks mikemorvan, I thought it looked a little skimpy on the footing also, but for what it is, prob not bad.
I will look at Millennium, wasn't aware they offered a light weight model, thanks.

I got my millennium from a guy on the classified but I think Cabelas carries them

The Mill. looks more comfortable but more expensive. I will try to check one out at Cabelas or BP. Thanks

I like my South Texas tripod. Very light and easy to move. I would recommend getting the one with the rail with removable front for bowhunting. The rail makes for a nice arm rest and when the front is removed it gives you a place to hang your bow.
