Fresh water Drum or Gasper-Goo

Anybody eat them? I know where to go and catch them by the hundreds on rod and reel but I have never eaten them. My friends that I am taking say they do.

What say's the green screen about the ole Gasper as table fare?

We'd shoot them bowfishing but never ate any. My grandpa says they're pretty good if you know how to cook them.

I eat them!! Taste just like channel cat to me. Never tried them any other way than fried though.

Never ate a Goo, but I've eaten lots of Croaker, which is the same thing in my book, just one is fresh water and the other is saltwater.

They are good and the big ones have the texture of lobster.

The smaller ones are really good fried, but grilled are excellent! We tend to release the larger ones due to heavier concentrations of fat, but will offer them to others that need fish and are unable to do so themselves.

They are very good eating! Filet our just like anything else...My dad always told me they were trash fish too! I tried them about 15 years ago and have been eating them every since...Dad Lied!

Goo is good
