Maybe you'll spot your avatar on the beach.

          Lucky you.

My brother lived there for years, my dad, grandfather, uncles, mom, sister in law, and nieces have all spent time there, but alas, not I.

Pearl would be my first stop. Then off that island to some place less touristy.

          Post pictures.

Just got back from Honolulu at 6:23am yesterday morning from vacation there, I have to say the traffic is worse than 635 in north Dallas all the time in and around the down town area. Did all the touristic things on the island and it was great. Do your research on everything you want to do, write down the address of those and take a Garmin or another tool that will give you driving instructions and you will not need all the guides to get to to and from places. We spent a lot of time on the North Shore had a great time. Next time we will go to a less touristic island. As much as I love the beach and warm weather it was nice to get back home after 8 days. Enjoy your trip. Pearl Harbor was wonderful to see and pay respects. Ok if this doesn't make sense, I am still out of it from the trip, never knew I would be so tired.

I agree about the traffic the company put us up in Waikiki and we're driving to the other side of the island by bus everyday and the traffic is worse than I 10 going to Houston to Katie

One fish that I always tell folks they gotta try in Hawaii is Moonfish. It's a lot like a terrific pork tenderloin only better. Never seen it offered anywhere else.

Go to one of the marinas and see if you can hook up on a "share" trip the next day. You can split up the cost of a boat charter with some folks and go trolling offshore for cheaper than anywhere.

There's some killer turkey hunting in Hawaii and some amazing shore fishing (yes there are bonefish in Hawaii!). Ask around.
