Not real sure what to think about it, but I found it interesting that they had a list of all the politicians that are for teacher carry. Wonder why they included that list? The drill was a good thing in that it honestly shows how helpless you are in a school building. Would turn out different though when one of the teachers pulls his piece during a "drill" and pops him, but if that happened it sure would help the cause showing that the "bad" guy sure didn't get as many shots off when someone is shooting back.

You practice fire drills, so why not active shooter?

Works for me...wish they would do it at my wife's school so she could see how it really happens...and how quick and effective a AS situation is over.

A lot of teachers I have talked to seem to think they will just lock the door and they are safe...or that hiding under their desk will save them

A drill done with teachers only, to demonstrate how ineffective their planned response would be is a good idea. Involving unsuspecting students....not so much. On the other hand, we had "Shattered Dreams" programs when I was in school. Most knew it was fake, but a few kids were always traumatized by the events. That's the whole idea, scare some people into realizing the fallacy of their actions. The fact is, right now, there is no realistic solution to the school security problem, and many of these administrators, and even more of the public, want to take the "ostrich approach" and just stick their heads in the sand and hide from the problem. Hopefully this will prompt that school, who apparently THOUGHT they had a workable plan, to rethink their plan.
