I wish someone would come up with a use for all theses dang tallow trees around my place. Id cut them a heck of a deal to harvest them!

I personally have no problem with it. I just wish they would do the same thing with Ash Juniper. I know Mesquite burns hot, so that is probably the reason. Removing most of the mesquite is not going to hurt anything, more beneficial brush will fill in it's place. Mesquite does not have much of a protein content for wildlife, although the mesquite beans do.

Because it seems as of late that we will do anything and allow anything to be done here as long as it helps out another country or the environment.

          they don't but they do...gotcha...???

Our deer eat the beans and the leaves......In this past drought that was all they had natural browse wise. Luckily we aren't near Corpus..

I've got an idea... Why don't we tell Europe to shove it and use that technology in our favor.

The next thing you know, Europe will be hit with a wave of brisket restaurants and fajitas.

This is exactly what I was thinking. All this tax payer money to fund "green initiatives" and we aren't even using what is growing right under our noses.

I say lets keep the mesquite and give them some CEDAR.
