    Omaha - College World Series?

I know several of you guys have been. How and when is the easiest way to get tickets. Do you suggest General Admission or what? I want to take my little boy this year if possible. Where to stay, eat, what to see.....Let me know what you got.

I can't tell you too much because I've never been. But, I did live in Des Moines IA a few years and went to Omaha quite a bit. They have a pretty cool zoo there with White tigers. As far as eating. Can't think of anything special. I do know that the beef from that part of the country is very tender and good. The baseball park is right off the freeway and very easy to get to. Enjoy, should be fun for the kid.

ticket prices range from $16 to $184 per seat plus added costs

you can buy them by the Game .... i.e. Game 1 , Game 2..... Game 12, etc......

Games start at either 2pm or 7 pm

I would buy ASAP as not many tickets left , you can always trade games with fans of other teams

my friend bought off this website before and was pleased ... http://www.ticketliquidator.com/tix/...?evtid=1912151

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel near by? Would you drive or you think it would be cheaper to fly? Is there a need to rent a car or are things pretty close by?

I stayed at the Magnolia Hotel in downtown a couple of years ago for the CWS and really enjoyed the stay. However, this is when the stadium was at the old spot and not downtown so I am sure the rate is more now. You can also stay at the casinos in Conucil Bluffs, Ia which is 5 minutes away.

I have been to Omaha 5 times for the CWS and I have never went with a ticket in my hand. I personally would just buy tickets on the secondary market around the stadium. I have never had an issue getting a ticket and I have never paid over face value for a ticket. I would NOT do general admission. You will stand in line for up to 2-3 hours before the game. Most of the CWS ticket holders are Omaha residents, so it is pretty easy to get tickets from them.

If you are worried about crowds and tickets, I would go Sunday afternoon - Wednesday.

Great thanks for the heads up on GA tickets. We will have a group so my only concern is making sure we can get enough tickets.

I've been any number of times over the last 30 years (basically whenever the Horns are there, which it doen't look like is gonna happen again this year).

Never bought tickets in advance. Always been able to get them at cost or reduced on the stadium grounds. Unlike at Disch-Falk, the NCAA has a rule against scalping on the stadium grounds, so the price will be right.

For truly sold-out games (as opposed to the majority which are only sold out on paper), you can pay a premium across the street from the stadium.

Do not leave Omaha without visiting the Henry Dorly - Omaha Zoo. It is on the same level as the San Diego Zoo. Plan to spend at least half a day there.

Do hit the Old Market section very near the stadium. "M's" is a great bar/restaurant, and kids welcome.

I just got back from Omaha (work trip) and stayed right across the street from Ameritrade (where the CWS is held). There are two hotels right across the street . . . . Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. There is a Holiday Inn and Fairfield Inn within walking distance. I would get a car, as the downtown area is a good walk. M's is fantastic.

Yea, I saw those on the map. I will look into those. Thanks.

From Google earth it told me it would be about a 15 hour drive from my house.
Do most people fly or drive?

So, do hotel rooms get hard to come by? Or are there usually no problems with reservations?
