Getting some specs on some bids and thought I would ask:
Should we go with AC and propane heat or just heat pump with electric strips for when it gets colder, I have heard below 32? We will have a propane tank onsite for cooking but with the cost of propane today just not sure if we want to go with propane or not. I think we would go ahead and stub it out in case we want to move to propane later.
Insulation quoted is foam in exterior walls with 2 inch foam on attic floor and R30 blown fiberglass on top of that. What are the advantages of going foam on underside of roof decking? I know when you foam the underside of the roof you move the insulation envelope. Also will have radiant barrier on underside of roof decking.
House is around 2500 sq ft.
Thanks.
