I tried it out of novelty, the thumb release did not work for me or my 13 year old
              Good luck

Just curious, but why do you want to switch? Does it feel better or have other benefits? Or do you just want to try something different?

It's best to get your hands on a few different kinds and try them out, if possible.
I really like my Stan SX-2.

If you make the switch be sure to watch this video. It explains the proper way to fire a thumb trigger.

When I was shooting the team shoot at Paris this weekend. The pro suggested that I change to a thumb release. He said it would improve my shooting a lot. He said I had real good form and stance but the wrist release was a lot of my inconsistencies in my shots. He also told me to add a better stabilizer and side bar.

Wo was the pro you shot with? Any of the top tier brands will all be about the same. And IMO the key to it all is how well it fits your hand. Tru ball, Stan, and Carter make great releases.

Go to a larger shop that would have several different models, or order a sample set for Keystone Country Store. Then play around with them, and see which allows you to shoot with the fewest amount of changes in form and anchoring.
