well we had a problem with them getting inside our feed barn, soo i know this may sound cruel, and un ethical, but we could only trap them for so long before they got trap savvy, and a buddy of mine that i know told me that they did this ,they got some regular weiners from the store and soaked them in prestone anti-freeze for about 3 days, then went out and put them out and within a week his coon problem was brought way way down. i know that some may disagree with this, but with cattle feed going higher and doesn t look like its going to get lower before it goes another dollar higher, we are forced to do what we got to do.

PVC over the legs for a few feet. Get carpet tape or strips and attach them to your upper part of the feeder legs. I hunt on the Guadalupe river and have at least 2 to 3 coons come in ever evening on all 4 of my setups. I dont shoot them because they wouldnt be there if I didnt have a feeder up and I dont plan on eating them. They are actually entertaining to watch and actually calm the critters Im hunting down and make lots of noise and movement to help me out also.

Get a red flash light and tie wrap it on your 12 guage barrel and maybe a red headlight. Then get out just before dark and go to work. I have found that coons come and go all night. I think they do that so as not to fight with each other. Yes two or three may come together. Shoot some of those and just get down and drag them off and get back up there. In a few nights time you will hammer them. This time of year is the time to do it. Not sure when they mate but I know last year I did this and it really cut down on them. I think there were not many left to breed.
