Need some advice from you dog folk

So. I have a mutt who has been my good friend. Always sweet. Rolls off the couch trying to cuddle. Decently trained (will follow all my directions and about 1/2 my wife's)

Well today she tried to bite our 9 month old again. - the first time he knocked a toy off a table onto her head and she started to snap then realized who it was and what happened. This time it was unprovoked.

Do I put her down or try to find a home without kids for her? My worry is if I find a home shell be come aggressive and bite the owners. She's only 4...

    Input please?

Some dogs just don't do well with kids. I wouldn't put her down, just try to find a good home for her with no kids.

If Youre not somewhere you could keep the dog away from the child I would find her a home instead of putting her down. I have a lab that for a while was scared of kids and growled at them but he has gotten used to them now but I also keep my dogs away unless I'm around watching closely. Good luck in whatever choice you do make.

If she does bite anyone, you, your wife or child, the only option because of liability will be to put her down. If she has not bit anyone yet, I would try to rehome her with someone without kids or maybe someone out in the country.

Since you asked for input. In my house the dog wouldn't be afforded the oppurtunity to snap at anyone, anywhere again. I've got relatives that will not come to my home because I informed them of this rule. If it bites it dies, apparently they think more of their purse poodle than than me.

What was the second situation? If it were me I would find him a new home but maybe have him evaluated by a vet first to make sure there are no medical issues. I had a grumpy English bulldog, once he got an adjustment he was more tolerant because he felt better.

I love my dogs, but if one them bites a family member, the dog will be put down.

I would hate it, but I would never trust the dog again.

                    Just put the dog outside.

Contrary to what many people believe nowadays, dogs can actually survive living outside.

A swift right hook will do wonders on behavior problems. If it actually bit anybody in my family the dog would be put down. I won't even tolerate my dogs growling at me or my wife. I wouldn't put it down unless it bit your kid. See if you can correct the problem if not find a good home for it. Good luck

Next time he gets snotty . Pin him down and hump him till he pees then have every member of the family do the same.
An unfixed male is a problem waiting to happen fix them young unless you have serious plans to breed.
Has always worked for us and we used chessies for working and they were bred to be aggressive.
Say what you want Ill always take a ***** for a working dog or pet.

                          Back to this?
