Be cautious and watch for signs of jeliousy. I grew up with a kid that had his face dang near bitt off from a family dog that didn't like being messed with while he ate.

We were worried about our mini-dachshund when we brought our daughter home. But he would sleep under her crib in our apartment, then when we moved into the house he would go in and "check" on her if she was in her crib. After a few months, he would start whimpering and crying in the middle of the night and pacing around our bed about 1 min before my daughter would wake up to feed. It was almost like he was tuned into her somehow. He is awesome. They are now couch buddies.

My two pups in sig pic stayed inside when baby girl came home. They all are best friends. GS will let her do as she pleases, no matter what the torture. But if u try and walk away with her, she gonna be a half step behind you.

I have a husky and a lab. When we brought my daughter home from the hospital I set the carrier on the floor and let them sniff her. They did just fine. Now both of them are her best friends.

Before my son came home from the hospital the doctor said to take a shir or bib or something he had worn home and let the dog sniff it so the dog would get used to the smell. Not sure if it helped but the dog never bothered my son at all.

Husky mix just wants a good belly rub and to be chased around the backyard. Lab is protective unless we give him the "okay" like new dogs roaming around, people coming inside. No biting or aggressive action. He's just on the lookout. He'll retrieve a bumper until he can't run anymore.
I don't know anything about huskies but my lab has been slapped in the face by a young kid and all she did was tuck her tail and hide behind "daddy"

Thanks for the advice and "heads-up" everyone. We just needed a little confirmation from people who have children and animals (obviously, this is our first). Looking forward to some good pictures and stories over the next several years.
