I've been told that we have to have one... and all we do is sell package hunts.

Technically all you are doing when you are selling package hunts... is leasing by the inch for several days... since you can't actually sell the DEER...

I was told by a gamewarden if I was making money on state game I needed a license. I think this sums it up...."or control for pay or other consideration."

Westtexasagent....you guys are low fence, right? Make sure you don't cheap sell those hunts if you are going to take a couple of your big deer...being able to enter them in B&C and P&Y is a real plus...

            Loophole?

What if you gave away the hunt for free but charged the person for "guiding" the him/her. You know the type of guiding where you go, "The blind's about 250 yards up that dirt road on your left."

Westexasagent, If the landowner or agent receives pay or any other consideration for hunting rights for any period of time, then a lease license is required. If it’s for one hour a lease license is required. Hope this helps. Bob

I just got off the phone with a TPWD Warden he said a guided hunt is different and you don't need a lease license...Now if you take money and let that hunter go out into the feild alone then that will fall under the law.

He's going to call his boss to make 110% sure sooo I'll let you know after I get the call.

Thanks guys! We are a low fenced 700 acre ranch so I bet we can spare the 140.00 to do it. We just want to be able to buy protein pellets for next year and maybe help pay for a new blind. We will be selling a hunt or two for the big bucks if the price is right. If not then just a couple hunts for culls (but we have some culls that were 8 pts. and over P&Y). Found a couple sheds but not the BIG boys. One set of sheds we scored (with estimated 18 inch spread) at 155. I have not been out there in a couple weeks to check for more sheds. The last trail cam pics in late March still showed the BIg boys with antlers!

Just found out for sure... That you need to get a lease license if the landowner is receiving any payment for hunting
